X-RAY YEREVAN
Personal photo exhibition / Installation
Cities are recognized, first and foremost, by their architecture and public structures. Often neglected are the humans who make those spaces alive, who destroy or develop them. In his project, Suren Tadevosyan depicts people – human bodies – juxtaposing them with the attributes of the city. Lending performative characteristics to his works, he aims to speak in a new, elastic language – telling of his city, showing both the inside and outside of it.
Making the city transparent is a way for Suren to relive it – to feel it in a new way. The inclination to merge the intimate with the public contains also an intent to reveal unseen and hidden stories. The X-Ray series shows the process of turning the skeleton of the city into a body, allowing one to refind lost utopias.
